AV Systems Built for a City Within the City
Brickell City Centre brings retail, hospitality, office, residential, and public gathering spaces into one connected urban environment. For Pro AVL, the work called for AV infrastructure that could support the pace of a premium destination without making the technology feel visible, complicated, or disconnected from the architecture.
The system approach centered on centralized AV control, audio systems, DSP, and networked operation across multiple environments. Public areas, hospitality zones, and retail-facing spaces needed the flexibility to operate on their own while still belonging to a larger coordinated platform.
A Development Where Every Space Has a Different Rhythm
Mixed-use environments place unusual demands on AV systems. A concourse may need subtle background music in the morning, a hospitality space may need a more defined atmosphere in the evening, and shared public areas may need consistent audio behavior across long pedestrian routes.
At Brickell City Centre, Pro AVL’s work supported that range of uses through infrastructure that could respond to time of day, space type, and operational need. The goal was not to make every area sound or behave the same. It was to give the development a reliable technical foundation that could adapt as the property moved through different daily patterns.

CHALLENGE
Coordinating Audio and Control Across a Large Urban Footprint
The project required systems that could serve large-scale public and commercial environments without creating unnecessary complexity for operators. Spaces needed to work independently when local control made sense, while still allowing broader coordination when the property required a unified AV experience.
That balance is difficult in a development with multiple user groups, changing schedules, and a mix of public-facing and staff-managed areas. Audio quality, DSP behavior, control access, and system reliability all had to support the operational life of the property, not just the opening-day installation.

DESIGN AND INTEGRATION
Centralized Control With Local Flexibility
Pro AVL deployed centralized AV infrastructure that gave Brickell City Centre practical control over distributed audio and video systems. Crestron control supported simplified system operation, while QSC technology provided the DSP and audio backbone needed for consistent performance across varied environments.
The system was organized so different areas could operate independently or as part of a unified network. That structure gave the property flexibility for day-to-day use, seasonal programming, hospitality needs, and public-space atmosphere without requiring each area to function as a completely separate technical island.
System Elements
Distributed Audio Infrastructure
Audio systems supported public, hospitality, and retail-adjacent environments with coverage that could serve background atmosphere, guest experience, and property-wide consistency.
DSP and Audio Processing
QSC DSP helped manage audio behavior across different zones, giving the system the structure needed for reliable performance in a large mixed-use setting.
Centralized Crestron Control
Crestron control interfaces gave operators a practical way to manage AV activity across the development, with the ability to coordinate systems without overcomplicating daily use.
Independent or Unified Operation
The infrastructure allowed spaces to function on their own or as part of a broader connected network, supporting the varied rhythms of retail, hospitality, and public environments.
OPERATIONAL IMPACT
A Smoother Technical Layer for a Busy Public Destination
For guests, the best AV systems in a mixed-use development often feel effortless. Music supports the atmosphere without drawing attention to itself. Public spaces feel consistent. Hospitality areas can shift tone as the day changes. Operators can make adjustments without chasing disconnected systems across the property.
That is the value of the Brickell City Centre AV approach. Pro AVL helped create a technical layer that supports the experience of the development while giving staff the control structure needed to manage changing uses across a large footprint.

OUTCOME
Connected AV for a Landmark Miami Development
Brickell City Centre required AV systems that could keep pace with a premium, high-traffic urban environment. Pro AVL’s integration brought together audio, video, DSP, and centralized control in a way that supported both local flexibility and property-wide coordination.
The result is an AV foundation suited to a mixed-use destination where retail, hospitality, and public spaces each have their own needs, but still benefit from one carefully organized system strategy.
